FAQ's for Equine Stays
How do I check your availability and/or book a stay?
You have to contact us directly. We do not have an online booking system for the simple reason that we aim to create bespoke breaks for up to 6 people which we manage individually.
What time is Check In?
Check in is between 12noon-2pm. We politely request an ETA when you set off to avoid unnecesary waiting and so that we can ensure that the gates are open ready for your arrival.
What time is Check Out?
Check out is by 2pm. We may ask you to vacate your room prior to this, but you are free to use all other facilities.
What does the 'All Inclusive' deal include and will there be any other costs during my stay?
All of your meals, snacks and soft drinks for the duration of your stay.
Unlimited turnout and grazing for your horse all year round.
The only possible additional options are:
The Hot Tub is £10 per person per stay if you choose to use it.
If you find that you need to feed hay, this is available at our current buy-in price.
Stables have a free bedding of deep shredded cardboard which works well for most guests. If you choose to have shavings instead, these are available at our current buy-in price. (Alternatively, you are very welcome to bring your own).
Do you provide separate turnout paddocks?
Yes. We have individual turnout, separated with 1.5m high mains electrified fences. These are tensioned for your safety and checked regularly. Due to the high volume of visiting horses, our grazing is rarely lush and most live out for the duration of their stay.
Do you have stables available?
We currently have 6 stables. Two 12x12 foot, two 10x10 foot and 2 large loose boxes. If you feel that you need a stable, this needs to be requested at the time of booking.
Is your access and parking suitable for larger lorries?
Yes. We have a large double gated entrance with a wide swing for longer vehicles. There is ample parking on hard standing with plenty of room to turn around.
How easy is the riding and do you provide accompanied rides?
Riding on Halkyn Mountain is VERY easy and after a short talk pointing out 4 basic landmarks, most people feel confident to ride out alone. There's an endless choice of paths and you will never need to take the same route twice.
In addition to the mountain rides, we have a number of alternatives which require a map, an app or a guide and we are more than happy to provide this.
Can I ride to the beach from your location?
No. Talacre beach is approximately 40 minutes drive away. Bridlewood Riding Centre provides excellent parking for a nominal fee. There is a lovely hack through their land which takes you through the sand dunes and onto the beach.
What do I need to bring for my horse?
Tack and Rugs.
All other equipment is here.
Do you have facilities for guests to park and stay in their lorries?
No, this isn't something which we provide.
Do you accommodate children?
Unfortunately no.
