You simply arrive with your horse (and alcohol) and spend a few days enjoying fabulous home cooked food served around a friendly dining table.

Riders bringing their own horses have use of individual turnout paddocks as well as a secure tack room and ample parking. The quality of grazing is rarely lush and most horses live out happily for the duration of their stay.

For those of you who need a stable, we have two 12x12ft stables, two 10x10ft and two large loose boxes, which need to be booked in advance. Each has a basic bedding of shredded cardboard included. There is also an option to purchase hay and shavings or alternatively, you are very welcome to bring your own.

As riders ourselves, we can tell you that Halkyn Mountain is a great place to ride. There’s something for everyone, from gentle hacks on safe, well established tracks to ‘full on’ galloping over open country with complete freedom from traffic. And for those riders who may be apprehensive about hacking out in an unknown area, we can confidently assure you that the mountain is very easy to navigate. You do not need to be skilled in map reading or orienteering. We provide a simple map with easy to spot landmarks and no one has managed to get lost so far!

For all of the hours when you're not in the saddle, there's an American Hot Tub on a private patio and a covered outdoor seating area for your enjoyment. On cooler days, you can relax in a spacious sitting room in front of a cosy log burning fire with a good choice of books and board games.

We have in-house treatments available from two excellent practitioners. Lyndsey is an outstanding massage therapist with over 25 yrs experience and specialising in deep tissue/sport type treatments. As a horse rider herself, she brings both skill and knowledge to her sessions. In contrast to this Susan, a master practitioner and trainer in holistic therapies, offers reflexology, Indian head massage and Reiki. |

If you're planning to stay longer there's plenty more riding in the local area. There's Talacre beach where you can access 5 miles of sandy beach and join the BHS North to South Bridleway. Mostyn Farm Ride, with its XC jumps and interesting trails through fields and woodland, is a short drive away and there are many local Fun Rides running across the year, including those organised by the Flint and Denbigh Hunt.
